Dr. Jennifer Blackburn graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine with honors in May 2001. Since graduation, Dr. Blackburn has dedicated herself to the practice of small animal medicine and surgery in the Melrose/Keystone Heights area and in June 2013 she purchased Keystone Heights Animal Hospital. Along with a highly trained and experienced staff, she has provided Keystone Heights and the surrounding areas with the best combination of compassionate, up-to-date, yet affordable care in the area. In January 2024, Dr. Blackburn and her husband opened Starke Animal Hospital with the goal of providing service and care to a wider range of people and their pets. Her practice philosophy is based foremost on superior patient care and outstanding customer service.

Originally from the Sarasota area, Dr. Blackburn and her husband, Charlie, moved to Gainesville in 1993. They are the proud parents of 2 daughters, Ava and Lily, and now call Melrose their home. In addition to several senior cats and a rambunctious English Springer Spaniel, named Juniper, they also have chickens and bees. When not at work, Dr. Blackburn enjoys reading, attending Gator sporting events, and spending time with her family.

Dr. Lisa A. Weisgerber grew up in northern West Virginia a tomboy to the core. She started off a serious equestrian with disciplines in Hunter jumpers, Show jumping and Dressage. She was even awarded a partial scholarship to William Woods University for her riding ability. Ultimately, she became a groom and exercise rider for Mountaineer Race Track and started a family. After becoming a veterinary technician and raising 4 beautiful kids, Brandon, Darren, Megan, and Zach her purpose in life became to peruse her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian. In 2016 she moved to a hobby farm in Florida. She performed her undergraduate work at Santa Fe College and was awarded early acceptance to Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, and attended her clinical year at the University of Florida, graduating in 2023 with the help of her friend Miss B. Today, Dr. Weisgerber enjoys spending time with her best friend and husband, Chris, loving on her dog Buggy, riding her horse Wills, shark diving, kayaking, restoring a jog cart, shooting guns, game nights with her parents, and spoiling her 2 grandchildren “Gator”and “Fancy Face” (nicknames).

Dr. Weisgerber’s main interests are diagnostic imaging, surgery, canine medicine, and equine medicine.
